NGC Partners with UTT on Climate Change

The Business Express of June 23rd, 2021 carried an advertorial on the recent MOU between NGC and UTT to conduct research into Climate Change Mitigation Projects by developing country-specific emissions factors. 

In order for T&T to track its progress towards meeting emissions reduction commitments, the country must be able to measure and inventory its GHG output. The current emissions estimates may be inaccurate due to the absence of country-specific emissions factors. An emission factor (EF) is a value that helps quantify the number of pollutants released during an activity. 

The team is aiming to submit an EF specific to natural gas combustion in T&T for acceptance by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) by the end of 2021. Read More
